“Modesty isn’t about hiding ourselves… it’s about revealing our dignity.”

“Don’t get stuck. Move, travel, take a class, take a risk. There is a season for wildness and a season for settledness, and this is neither. This season is about becoming. Don’t lose yourself at happy hour, but don’t lose yourself on the corporate ladder either. Stop every once in a while and go out to coffee or climb in bed with your journal. Now is your time. Walk closely with people you love. Don’t get stuck in the past, and don’t try to fast-forward yourself into a future you haven’t yet earned. Give today all the love and intensity and courage you can, and keep travelling honestly along life’s path.”

Having friends on tumblr is really great. I often refer to you guys in real life as “my friend from england/autrallia/california/new york” and it makes people think I’m very well traveled when really I’ve just spent a lot of time on the Internet.

“You can keep sinning, and God will just keep forgiving you, no matter what. This is true, but it doesn’t matter, because: you don’t want to keep sinning. Sin has, time and again failed on its promise to satisfy, and God has always satisfied. God isn’t afraid of the bond you have with your sin because He knows it’s already letting you down. You want more, and He wants more for you.”

“I think your 20s are the hardest part of life. I mean, everyone goes on about how hard it is to be a teenager, but actually I think it’s tougher to be in your 20s because you’re expected to be a grownup and expected to earn your own living and be successful and I think you feel like a kid still.”
